Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College is a
historical and renowned textile engineering college in Bangladesh which is
located in Barisal. In 1980, a Textile Institute was establishing in Barisal
district and offering 2 years certificates course in textile technology.
In 1993-94,
The Textile Institute was renamed as Barisal Textile Institute and offering 3
years Diploma Course in Textile Technology. After that finally the Barisal
Textile Institute was renamed as Shahid Abdur Rab Sernibat Textile Engineering
College in 2010. The Textile Engineering College now provides 4 years B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree in 4 special areas of Textile to their students. The
Textile Engineering College operated by University of Dhaka Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering
College also known as ARSTEC.
The Textile Engineering College provides B.Sc. in Textile
Engineering degree in 4 special areas of textile and the 4 special areas are Yarn Manufacturing, Fabric
Manufacturing, Wet Processing
and Garments Manufacturing. The course
Fashion & Design Technology is proposed and will start soon.
Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College
provides so many facilities to their students. The college provides Scholarship
facilities, Library, Hostel for both male and female, Transportation,
Auditorium and many others facilities. The college has 8 different labs to
provide practical knowledge to their students. They have Yarn Manufacturing
lab, Weaving lab, Knitwear lab, Wet processing lab, Garments and Fashion design
lab, Computer lab and others lab with different types workshop. All labs has
latest machine of different special areas of textile and operated by technical person
so that they provide practical knowledge to their students. The college has a
big library with large amount textile related books, journal, newspaper etc
which helps to increase knowledge of the college students. The college has a
large campus area.
