Textile Engineering College, Zorarganj, Chittagong is one of the
oldest and historic textile engineering college in Bangladesh. Zorargonj
is a village based area with amazing natural beauty under Mirsarai Upa-Zilla of
Chittagong district. Textile Engineering
College offers B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree in 5 special areas of
textile.
In 1911 the college was establish in old Dhaka, Trunk road and in 1960
the college campus was transferred in current location Zorarganj, Chittagong. Textile
Engineering College provides textile education to fulfill the demand of
technical and educated in person in textile industry in this country as well as
in the world. The college is operating under the Ministry of Textile & Jute,
Government of The Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. And the college affiliated to
the University of Chittagong.
Textile Engineering College provides Bachelor Degree in 5 special
areas of textile. 5 special areas are Yarn Manufacturing Technology, Fabric
Manufacturing Technology, Garments Manufacturing Technology, Wet Processing
Technology and Fashion & Design Technology (Proposed).
Textile Engineering College provides many facilities to their
students. The college has laboratory facilities for their students. The college
has Yarn Manufacturing Lab, Fabric Manufacturing Lab, Weaving Lab, Knitting
Lab, Garments Manufacturing Lab, Computer Lab, Engineering Lab etc. The college
library has a huge collection of Textile and others books, journals etc. The
college has also Male and Female hostel for their students.
The college provides free medical service to their students and
also teachers and others stuff also get free treatment from this medical camp. The
student counseling is an integral part of the academic program. For this
purpose there will be a coordinating teacher for each year that will look after
the student’s affairs. The college administration plays a great role in the
placement of our graduates in suitable jobs. The college also provides stipend facility
to their students according to their merit. Under the Stipend facility,
Students get 150Tk per month and get 1,000Tk discount when they buy their books
from this project. The college has also link with some textile industry where
students placed for their industrial attachment.
