Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) is the only one public university in Bangladesh which provides different textile courses.  The University provides B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree in six specialized areas of textile. Admission process is highly competitive because of limited sets and need high academic qualification in SSC and HSC level.

Students are select for admission through admission test. Admission test exam marks is 200. Students get chance according to their merit because the university search only qualified students. The academic session begins on 1 July and ends on 30 June.

Requirements for Admission Test: Students must be Bangladeshi by birth or legal immigration. Candidate must be passed in SSC or equivalent examination from Science group and must obtaining CGPA 4.00 (Without 4^th Subject) and HSC or equivalent examination from Science group and obtaining CGPA 4.00 (Without 4^th Subject). Total grade point should be 13.00 and candidate should get minimum 3.50 in Physics, Chemistry and Math. Foreign students should apply to the Ministry of Education; Government of Bangladesh through Bangladesh embassies located their own country.

B.Sc. in Textile Engineering (Management and Business Studies) (60 seats)

B.Sc. in Textile Engineering (Fashion and Design) (30 seats)

Total Seat: 410 (15% for female)

Course Fee: 32,000 BDT or USD 400 (Variable)

Application Procedure: Student can apply through application form. Students can buy application form from accounts and finance department of the University or can apply by Teletalk Mobile Operator. Application charge 550 BDT or USD 7 (Variable) only.
