Bangladesh earns a huge amount of foreign currency by
exporting Ready Made Garments (RMG) and RMG sector plays a vital role in the
economy of Bangladesh. There are a large number of industries in country
related to Textile and Garments sector but there are a few number of technical
and educated persons related to this industry.
To fulfill the demand of
technical and educated person for this industry Textile Education is increasing
day by day.
Now-a-days, Technical Education like Textile Education has a
high demand. To fulfill this demand, there are some universities, colleges and
institutes provide different degree related to Textile Education. The
popularity of Textile Education in Bangladesh is increasing because there are a
large number of textile industries in this country.
Textile Education plays a vital role in human resource
development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial
productivity and improving the quality of life. The job opportunity is
increased in textile sector in this country. So many people try to build their
carrier in this industry. There are a large number of private universities
provides different types degree on Textile Education but only one government
universities named Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) provides different
type textile courses on Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Dyeing, Printing,
Finishing & Apparel or Garments. Some universities/colleges follow
international rules in their courses but many universities/colleges/institute
did not follow international rules and their course doesn’t meet today’s
education policy.
There are also a large number of technical colleges and
institutes provide different types textile degree and courses. The costs of
those degrees are high in private universities, colleges or institutes rather
than government universities, colleges and institutes. The government should
take proper step to enhance Textile Education by establishing more government
universities, colleges and institutes so that anyone can easily skilled in
textile sector.
